US Teamsters Claim De-regulation the Cause for Trucking Problems Now
In the 1970’s unionised truckers were at an all time high of more than 2 million but now it is fewer than 75,000. Teamsters are blaming the de-regulation of the 80’s for the shortage of truck drivers today in the US. The American Trucking Association (ATA) advise the US need to hire some 1.1 million drivers over the next decade to protect supply chain. Read more here.
