UK Haulier Problems Worsening
The haulier crisis in the UK continues with “driver retention surcharges” being applied. Drivers are reportedly being paid 4 times their normal wage to move to larger haulage firms leaving smaller operators short staffed and the costs being on charged to forwarders. One forwarder is quoted as saying, “Despite this increase, every haulier we deal with told us that from September there would be surcharges of between £50-65 per load.” Read on here.
