Potential Rail Strikes in the US

Rail unions are in final discussions over scheduling and sick time with rail companies and if an agreement cannot be reached the U.S. could face strikes that will shut down rail operations and impact both passenger and freight lines. Passenger train operator Amtrak has cancelled long distance train trips this week as some trains operate on freight tracks. President Joe Biden and his economic team are trying to avert strikes by freight companies ahead of the Friday deadline.
