Missed Port Calls a Problem for Feeder Operators
UK ports calls have been skipped by Maersk and other carriers due to berthing delays which has resulted in feeder operators needing to relay thousands of “overcarried” containers. UK cargo is now piling up at major European hub ports of Rotterdam and Antwerp and adding to already over congested terminals. Carriers are now looking at alternative ports like Zeebrugge and Wilhemshaven to discharge the UK imports. Read on here.
