Liquefied natural gas (LNG) prices have soared recently and sparked concerns of its long term sustainability in powering marine vessels. LNG produces significantly less carbon dioxide emissions compared to liquid fuels which support emission reduction targets but a cold winter in the northern hemisphere has driven up prices due to low storage levels.
