UK logistics has been experiencing shortages of drivers and since Brexit, a further ~30,000 European drivers left the UK. Now the UK government has offered funded training for HGV drivers and received over 2000 applications for the driver training already. Trained drivers are guaranteed job interviews and if successful will be ready to start work in February 2022. This looks to be a good step forward in assisting the driver shortage issue but a long road still ahead. Read more here.
